Math Scavenger Hunt Clues

Math clues work best when the calculation reveals a useful number, letter, location, or order. The mathematics should match the player’s current skills and support the hunt rather than interrupting it with long worksheets.

Make the answer do something

A numeric answer may identify a numbered drawer, page, step, or envelope. A sequence of answers can map to letters using A=1, B=2, and so on. Players should know exactly how to use the result once they solve it.

Match the math to the group

Younger players can add, subtract, count shapes, or compare lengths. Older players can solve fractions, percentages, simple equations, coordinates, or pattern sequences. Avoid introducing unfamiliar notation during a timed hunt.
